If you're starting any small business (and if you are here you probably are) then you always need to consider ROI (Return on Investment). This is super-important not just for the dollars you are going to spend but also for your own time.
Right now you are reading this and (I really hope) about to watch the short video). The ROI on this needs to be measured in terms of future value benefit from the time you spend now. The return on your (time) investment.
This is exactly the same for any business decision - including one of the most important ones you will face as you embark into the world of e-commerce - where to spend your marketing dollar.
One of the most powerful channels in the giant funnel you are creating with any online business is 'Pay Per Click' or 'PPC' advertising. It shows up when someone is searching and if that person clicks on it there is a reasonable chance they will be receptive to the offer on the end of it.
You can do PPC advertising on Google, Facebook, LinkedIn, even Twitter, and you can spend as much as you want. Google has the broadest reach and the others offer interest or profile-based targeting. You can also advertise right inside Amazon using Amazon Sponsored Products.
Choosing takes time and executing takes time and money. Then you need to analyse, optimise and repeat. It's a time-suck and done badly it's also expensive.
So if you could do just ONE THING. What would it be?
